Language course
Finnish School Service Oy offers you a Finnish language course held online from Finland. The goal is for you to learn Finnish during the course so that you can start training as a care assistant or some other professional training in Finland. The age limit for the course is 16 years.
The language course is held online via Zoom. There are lessons 4 times a week, 75 minutes a day. The course lasts seven months. The goal is to achieve proficiency level A2.2.-B1.1 in Finnish. which means developing basic language skills (A2.2.) or functional basic language skills (B1.1.). Those who successfully complete the course will receive a certificate, which allows them to apply for a school place in Finland. Completing the course requires homework and independent study outside of class. If the student does not study hard enough, the language certificate cannot be granted.
The teachers are professional Finnish language teachers. Classes are partly in English. A Persian/Kurdish-speaking person is present at the beginning of the course.
The total price of the course is 3,500 euros. The payment is VAT-free, as the students live outside the EU.
The fee includes tuition and material provided via the internet.
The fee indcludes also consultation how to move to Finland.
The course fee must be paid in full in advance before starting the course.
Organizing the course requires at least 25 students.
The course fee is not refunded if the student decides to stop the course prematurely or is otherwise absent from the lesson.
If the student feels that there is a mistake in the service, he can complain to the Consumer Disputes Board or the District Court of Varsinais-Suomen.
According to Finnish law, the student has the right to cancel the course by notifying Finnish School Service Oy by e-mail within 14 days of paying the course fee. However, if the student has already started the Finnish language course before submitting the cancellation notice, he is obliged to pay 200 euros as cancellation costs.
